Wow, where can I even start. This film was a complete masterpiece compared to Joss Whedons take on the 2017 film. Zack Snyder has completely changed the concept of superhero movies and shown us what could have been in 2017.
A bit of back story, in 2017 Zack Snyder was set to direct DC’s first live-action Justice League movie but had to leave the production after the tragic passing of his daughter. In stepped Joss Whedon, the director of the Avengers, Avengers Age of Ultron, and the original creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, to take over from Zack, because of his work this was set to be one of the greatest productions DC had ever produced. Sadly, Joss Whedon created his own take on the film instead of using Zack Snyders footage and it wasn’t what fans expected at all, leave us all in disappointment with what we had. 3 Years later Zack Snyder returned and announced he would be releasing his own take on the film, bringing us Zack Snyders Justice League or as fans referred to it ‘The Snyder Cut’.
On to the film, this was a story we should have seen years ago. Every single character had their own stories alongside the main dilemma, but the character that developed in this film was Cyborg. In the 2017 version Cyborg was conveyed as a side character, but Snyder made him the main character, giving him the job of saving the earth with his powers. Snyder also gave him a striking back story, showing us how he became half man, half robot and showing us the extent of his power. Snyder also decided to add a new villain to the DCEU, Darkseid, making him the mastermind behind the whole master plan, but he sends his Commandant Steppenwolf and an army to do his work for him.
The Final Character that got a new and improve story was the Flash. Barry Allen was shown to be more powerful than he was in 2017. Towards the end of the film, we see him at his max potential, run at the speed of light and reversing time. His new power was the key to saving the world, reversing time and stopping the world from an all-out apocalypse, giving him a new character arc.
The film has loads of more shocking and great cinematic moments, giving it its hyped-up name. To learn more, you will have to watch the film, stream on NowTV or Sky Cinema for the UK or HBO max if you in the United States.
